About Cinefile

Let's all go to the lobby...

I love movies.

The feeling and excitement and the experience, of dimming the lights, watching the previews, getting hot buttery popcorn all over your fingers...I feel it is a comfort shared without language barriers. One that many of us love and strive to hold onto.

My first movie memory is probably going to see The Return of the Jedi with my family back in the 80s. My mom says she took me to see The Empire Strikes Back too when I was younger than that, but I wish I could remember such an event in my life. Sadly, I was born too late to have seen A New Hope in theaters, so a perfect trilogy I did not. Though, I did go see the Special Edition releases later in the 90s. HAN SHOT FIRST!

The memory of many of those movies I was able to experience when I was younger lives on only in my grey matter now, and I wanted to really change that.

Cinefile aims to fix that, for all of us.

Now we can keep our movie ticket stubs in a centralized location, tied to memories, experiences and events, in a living and breathing archive of our cinematic screenings.

I feel cinema is magical and I want to remember the time I almost cried when I saw IMAX 70MM for the first time, or the time I laughed more than probably necessary at Just Visiting, or even falling asleep during Wild Wild West (I still don't like that movie).

But that's what makes going to the movies great, and the memories of those moments should live with us forever.

See you in the lobby. -Brian - A guy who watched Oppenheimer too many times.
